On Thursday 15thAugust 2019, we launched the Central Coast 100 Day Challenge (CC100DC). The community chosen theme for the CC100DC is for: Young People to have the resources and support they need to transition to a meaningful pathway.
A community driven Working Group has been established to lead this work and have been working on some key actionsincluding:· Development of a mentoring program for Central Coast youth (focusing on meaningful pathways)· Identifying 100 mentors in 100 days· Developing protocols for tracking young people post Year 12 (to support them in their transition to a meaningful pathway) More actions are being added to the CC100DC regularly with other actionsbeing a Student Employment Survey, Mayor’s Roundtable / Youth Voice Workshop and a Grade 12 luncheon @ Ulverstone Secondary College (focussed on post school pathways).
Progress is being made with the mentoring program which has been named ‘Doors to Mentors’ and we will soon be calling for mentor expressions of interest. If you would like to get in early to express your interest in becoming a mentor and/or if you or your business would be prepared to provide sponsorship to help get this off the ground, please contact me on the below details.
